TEA PROGRAMS

Teach Begins with Tea
Thursday, May 21, 7-9 pm
Join us for the next installment of our documentary film series as we take a closer look at the American public school system. Teach Begins with Tea will host a screening of Waiting for Superman, the critically acclaimed documentary that follows Geoffrey Canada in his quest to become an educator. Waiting for Superman examines many of the core issues with American public schools today such as the ease in which a teacher can earn tenure and the inability to fire a tenured teacher, how the system attempts to reprimand poorly performing teachers, and how these effect the environment in which students learn. The film also looks at teacher unions and the role they play in shaping the educational landscape in America. Admission (tea & light refreshments) $5 with RSVP to info@tea4u.com; $8 at the door (space permitting).
